Toyota Tundra Bed Rust Recall

I asked my dealer many times over the years if there were any recalls on my truck and it.

Toyota tundra bed rust recall. I only use this truck for family vacation tripshuntingfishing etc. There was a recall for the rusted frame but not the bed. The list below shows all known recalls from Transport Canadas database.

Affected are 2016-2017 Toyota Tundra trucks equipped with rear step bumpers made of resin with resin reinforcement brackets at the corners. On May 21 2017 a settlement of claims in a class action lawsuit involving 2005-2010 Toyota Tundra vehicles regarding frame corrosion was approved. It seems everyone has rust in the same spots along the crossmembers.

Hi all I bought a 2014 Tundra Crew max in January as my second vehicle. Toyota is recalling 73000 Tundra trucks for step bumpers that may break when stepped on. I recently cut out 8 spots.

Not sure home much it will matter long term at least slow corrosion down some. Surrounding metal area surrounding all screws that hold bed onto frame completely rusted. The service manager of the dealership was also there.

I undercoated the frame pretty well then both sides of the bed. Sourdough44 Jun 28 2020. Over on tundra solutions there is a big thread regarding rust on the bed floor.

Toyota in 2016 settled a class-action suit by agreeing to spend 3 billion to repair millions of Tacomas Tundras and Sequioa SUVs with rusting. Showed the nice man the rust and he said and with a very blank look on his face. I have read a lot of the old posts on this issue and it seems theres not much you can do to fix it or prevent it other than maybe slow it down with something like POR-15 paint.
